From list price to trip price
A list rate multiplied by your flight time gives the core of a quote, not the whole of it. Three things are added for most trips: hours the aircraft flies empty to reach you or return home, any daily minimum when the aircraft waits, and the taxes and fees that apply to the journey.
A same-day round trip usually sits closest to the simple multiplication, because the aircraft flies home with you. A one-way trip often carries the cost of an empty return, and a trip of several days adds crew overnights and parking. A repositioning flight going your way is the exception that can come in below the list.
The notes on reading a price list and why the figures are ranges go into each of these in more detail.
