Questions

Questions on price and practice

Plain answers on what the figures mean, what is added, and how booking works. Anything not covered can go in the notes of your request.

Are the prices on the list what I will pay?

No. They are estimates per flight hour, for planning. Your quote prices the actual aircraft and route and adds repositioning, taxes and airport charges, so the total is complete before you agree to anything.

Why is there a range instead of one price?

Aircraft in one category differ in age, model and operating cost, and operators price from different home bases. Season, demand and trip length move the figure as well. The range shows where most quotes land.

What is the 7.5% tax?

The federal excise tax on domestic US air transportation, charged on the taxable part of the charter. It appears as its own line on every domestic quote we send.

Is a one-way flight half the price of a round trip?

Rarely. A one-way quote often includes the aircraft's empty flight home, so it can come close to the cost of a round trip. A repositioning flight already heading your way is the exception.

Can I see who operates the aircraft?

Yes. Each quote names the operator and the aircraft and notes which independent audits apply, such as ARGUS, Wyvern Wingman or IS-BAO. Ask us anything else you would like checked.

How do jet cards and fractional ownership compare?

Jet cards sell prepaid hours, usually with peak-day surcharges and daily minimums. Fractional ownership means buying a share of an aircraft, a sixteenth being about 50 hours a year, plus monthly and hourly fees. Charter asks for no commitment; you pay trip by trip.

Are pets allowed?

Usually, as long as the operator has agreed beforehand. Tell us how many animals and how large they are and we will price only aircraft that accept them. Some operators add a cleaning charge.

Must I join anything to get a price?

Nothing at all. A quote is free, with no membership or deposit. Payment arises only after you accept a quote and sign the charter agreement.

Do you list live prices or availability?

No. Prices change with aircraft positions and demand, so the list shows estimates and each quote is priced for your own trip when you ask.

Why does a short trip cost more per hour than I expected?

Many operators bill a daily minimum of one to two hours, and repositioning can exceed the flight itself on short hops. Your quote shows both lines so the reason is visible.

Can I print the price list?

Yes. The price list page has a print button and a layout designed for paper, dated so you know which version you are holding.

What happens after I accept a quote?

You sign a charter agreement with the operating carrier and pay according to its terms. The agreement also sets out what happens if you change or cancel the trip.

How far ahead should I ask?

As soon as dates are likely. More notice means more aircraft to choose from, which usually means a better price, especially around holidays.

Can I request a specific aircraft model?

You can say which you prefer, and we will try to find it. If it is not available, we will offer the closest alternatives and explain the differences.
